The Yogyakarta Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) noted that Yogyakarta's economic growth in cumulative to cumulative or throughout 2024 only reached 5.03 percent. The cumulative to cumulative (ctc) growth above was lower than in 2023 which reached 5.07 percent on an annual basis or year on year (yoy) and higher than the achievement in the fourth quarter of 2024 of 2.92 percent on a quarter to quarter (qtq) basis.
Nevertheless, in the fourth quarter of 2024, Yogyakarta's economic growth was the highest compared to other provinces in Java, both qtq, yoy, and ctc. Several National Strategy Projects (PSN) that are still running, as well as tourist visits during the Christmas and New Year holidays helped drive the DIY economy.
DIY grew by 5.07% yoy, while other provinces, namely East Java 5.03% West Java 5.02%, Banten 5.02%, DKI Jakarta 5.01%, and Central Java below 5%, namely 4.96%. Growth in ctc or throughout the year DIY amounted to 5.03%, followed by other provinces in Java Island whose figures were below 5%, namely West Java and Central Java 4.95%, East Java 4.93%, DKI Jakarta 4.90%, and Banten 4.79%.
Head of BPS Yogyakarta Herum Fajarwati said that Yogyakarta's economic growth in 2024, as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached Rp193.51 trillion and Rp124.59 trillion at constant 2010 prices. The structure of Yogyakarta's GRDP at current prices by business field in 2024 also shows no change.
