Abstract

DIY economy in 2019 grew 6.60 percent (c-to-c), moving faster than in 2018 which grew by 6.20 percent. By sector, the growth was driven by the construction business field which grew 14.39 percent, water supply, waste treatment, waste, and recycling which grew by 8.90 percent, and the provision of accommodation and food and drink which grew by 8.89. On the other hand, the main pillars of growth from the expenditure side were the gross fixed capital formation component which grew 9.74 percent and the consumption expenditure of nonprofit institutions serving households that also grew quite high at 9.58 percent.
  • The economy of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) as measured by the value of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) based on current prices in 2019 reached Rp141.4 trillion and at the base of constant prices in 2010 it reached Rp104.5 trillion.
  • DIY economy in quarter IV-2019 against quarter IV-2018 grew 6.16 percent (y-on-y) lower than the growth in the same period in 2018 which grew 7.39 percent. Compared to quarter III-2018 DIY economy also grew by 0, 80 percent (q-to-q), higher than the same period the previous year which was 0.66 percent.
  • The biggest share of DIY economic growth during 2019 (c-to-c) was the construction business, which was 1.47 percent, followed by the provision of accommodation and food and drink by 0.85 percent and information and communication by 0.83 percent.
  • While in terms of GDP, expenditure, the largest share of DIY economic growth in 2019 (c-to-c) is still dominated by gross fixed capital formation and household consumption expenditure, each at 2.71 percent and 2.24 percent.
