Release Date : February 5, 2020
File Size : 0.49 MB

Abstract

The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) is an indicator of the latest economic development of consumers produced by the Central Statistics Agency through the Consumer Tendency Survey (STK). ITK describes the economic condition of household consumers during the current quarter (current ITK) and forecasts for the next quarter (upcoming ITK).
  • Yogyakarta Special Region ITK (DIY) during the fourth quarter of 2019 was at the level of 110.11. It means that the economic condition of consumers during the fourth quarter is at an optimistic level or is increasing compared to the previous quarter.
  • Consumer optimism during quarter IV-2019 was driven by two of its constituent indices, namely the current income index and the consumption volume index. Meanwhile, the index of the effect of inflation on consumption is at a pessimistic level.
  • Estimated value of ITK DIY in the coming quarter I-2020 will be at the level of 106.77. That is, the condition of the consumer economy during the next quarter is still optimistic with a slightly lower level of optimism than quarter IV-2019. The optimism of the upcoming ITK will be driven by the two constituent indices.
