Abstract

    The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) is 4.06 percent
  • Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) is 72.60 percent
  • Number of workforce in D.I. Yogyakarta in August 2022 as many as 2.34 million people. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) is 72.60 percent, a decrease of 0.92 percentage points compared to August 2021.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2022 was 4.06 percent, a decrease of 0.50 percentage points compared to August 2021 (4.56 percent).
  • Residents work D.I. Yogyakarta as many as 2.24 million people, an increase of 12.61 thousand people from August 2021. Employment fields that experienced a percentage increase were mainly in the Provision of Accommodation and Food and Drink (1.61 percent points), Transportation and Warehousing (1.31 percent points), and other services (0.75 percentage point). Meanwhile, employment that experienced a decline was mainly in Wholesale and Retail Trade (2.12 percentage points), Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security (1.00 percentage points), and Manufacturing Industry (0.43 percentage points).
  • A total of 1.20 million people (53.38 percent) work in informal activities, down 1.98 percentage points when compared to August 2021 at 55.36 percent.
  • Most of the working population are full-time workers (67.06 percent). Meanwhile, part-time workers are 28.18 percent and underemployed 4.76 percent.
  • There are 102.74 thousand people (3.19 percent) of the working age population affected by Covid-19, consisting of unemployed due to Covid-19 (3.34 thousand people), Non-Working Forces (BAK) due to Covid-19 (7.54 thousand people), temporarily not working due to Covid-19 (1.88 thousand people), and working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours due to Covid-19 (89.98 thousand people). Compared to August 2021, it decreased by 355.31 thousand people or 77.57 percent.
