Abstract

    The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) is 3.69 percent
  • The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) is 74.08 percent
  • In August 2023, the number of workforce in D.I. Yogyakarta as many as 2.22 million people. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) was 74.08 percent, an increase of 1.48 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2023 was 3.69 percent, a decrease of 0.37 percentage points compared to August 2022 (4.06 percent). However, rural TPT experienced an increase of 0.27 percentage points as a result of the prolonged El Nino.
  • Residents work D.I. Yogyakarta as many as 2.14 million people, or 96.31 percent of the total workforce in D.I. Yogyakarta. Employment opportunities experienced an increase in the percentage of labor absorption, especially in Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (1.71 percentage points), Provision of Food and Drink Accommodation (1.01 percentage points), and Wholesale and Retail Trade (0.98 percentage points) . Meanwhile, employment experienced a decline, especially in the Manufacturing Industry (3.54 percentage points); Freight and Warehousing (0.73 percentage points); and other services (0.52 percentage points).
  • A total of 1.15 million people (53.78 percent) worked in informal activities, an increase of 0.40 percentage points compared to August 2022 which was 53.38 percent.
  • Most of the working population are full-time workers (67.20 percent). Meanwhile, part-time workers were 27.18 percent and underemployed were 5.62 percent.
