Abstract

In December 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province was 1.28 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.61. Gunungkidul Regency was recorded to have experienced y-on-y inflation of 0.92 percent with a CPI of 105.84 and Yogyakarta City experienced y-on-y inflation of 1.73 percent with a CPI of 107.55.
Inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco group by 0.82 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.10 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.75 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 1.53 percent; health group by 2.41 percent; transportation group by 0.02 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 2.27 percent; education group by 1.13 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 0.99 percent; and personal care and other services group by 8.59 percent. Meanwhile, the group that experienced a decrease in the index was the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.32 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in December 2024 was 0.46 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 1.28 percent.
