In March 2025, the Province of D.I. Yogyakarta experienced a year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate of 0.52 percent. The highest y-on-y inflation occurred in Yogyakarta City, at 0.83 percent.

Abstract

In March 2025, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province was 0.52 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.65. Gunungkidul Regency was recorded to have experienced y-on-y inflation of 0.28 percent with a CPI of 105.86, while the City of Yogyakarta experienced y-on-y inflation of 0.83 percent with a CPI of 107.63.
Inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in some expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco group by 1.56 percent; clothing and footwear group by 3.07 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 1.90 percent; health group by 2.23 percent; transportation group by 0.85 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.76 percent; education group by 1.36 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.74 percent; and personal care and other services group by 10.74 percent. Meanwhile, groups that experienced a decrease in index were: housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 7.03 percent; and information, communication, and financial services group by 0.30 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate in March 2025 is 1.25 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in March 2025 is 0.04 percent.
