Abstract

In April 2025, the year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation rate in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province was 2.10 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.43. Gunungkidul Regency recorded a y-o-y inflation rate of 2.19 percent and a CPI of 107.75, while Yogyakarta City experienced a y-o-y inflation rate of 2.01 percent with a CPI of 109.27.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the rise in some expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco group by 2.25 percent; clothing and footwear group by 3.04 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 1.28 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 2.01 percent; health group by 2.31 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.74 percent; education group by 1.36 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.76 percent; and personal care and other services group by 13.13 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: the transportation group by 0.44 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.65 percent.
The month-to-month inflation rate in April 2025 was 1.67 percent, and the year-to-date inflation rate for the same month was 1.71 percent.
