Consumer Price Index of Yogyakarta Municipality 2016

Publication of the Consumer Price Index of Yogyakarta in 2016 is an annual publication published by the BPS-Statistics of Yogyakarta province. This publication presents information on the consumer price index (CPI) and the percentage changes, for the calendar year 2016 according to the groups and sub groups expenditure. Data are presented in tabular form and the percentage change in the index. Basic overview of the data presented is described as follows:  The inflation rate Yogyakarta in 2016 amounted to 2.29 percent, lower than the national figure of 3.02 per cent.  From the seven groups of expenditures, the largest index changes occur in the foodstuff that is equal to 4.77 per cent with a share of 0.90 percent.  During the 2016 Yogyakarta highest inflation in July which reached 0.94 percent, while the biggest deflation occurred in April and September amounted to 0.16 percent.  Some commodities are contributing positively pushing inflation in the city of Yogyakarta in 2016 include: onions, garlic, construction worker foreman, the cost of the contract home, and coconut. While negative commodity price changes that contributed to curb inflation include: gas, electricity, air transport, cement and rice.
