Abstract

An overview of labor conditions covering a wide range of occupations, employment, working people, and unemployment in the Yogyakarta Special Region is urgently needed in development planning. This publication draws upon the need for employment data. Meanwhile, the data used in this publication is in February 2017-February 2018 period.
The condition of February 2018 shows the total labor force in Yogyakarta Special Region of 2.97 million people, with the labor force of 72.21 percent and not the labor force of 27.79 percent. Translated from sex, the number of working-male population is less than women 1.45 million people versus 1.51 million people. For the percentage of the labor force for employment, the cost of labor for men is greater than 80.90 percent versus 63.87 percent. Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta on February 2018 amounted to 72.21 or an increase compared to February 2017 of 72.00 and August 2017 of 71.52. Compared with gender, in February 2018, male LFPR was higher than women with 80.90 conversions versus 63.87.
The Open Unemployment Rate in the Special Region of Yogyakarta in February 2018 was 3.06 percent or an increase from February 2017 of 2.84 percent and August 2017 of 3.02 percent.
