The Result of Sensus Penduduk 2020 Long Form Daerah Istimwa Yogyakarta Province

The Special Region of Yogyakarta, with its diversity, is one of the miniature provinces of INDONESIA. In terms of population size, it is not too large, but in terms of the quality of its population, it has very good potential. The human development achievements of D.I Yogyakarta in 2022 have a "very high" status. With the right strategy, the population as a potential resource can become a national strength to realize the aspirations of a Developed Indonesia.In 2022, exactly one decade of Indonesia's demographic bonus, BPS was committed to completing the mandate to carry out the Continuing Population Census (Long Form SP2020) with various challenges in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. With the permission of the Almighty God and the hard work of all parties, the Long Form SP2020 data collection has been completed.
The Long Form SP2020 bears a great mission as a benchmark population indicator, a demographic portrait after passing the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, an evaluation of population development achievements under the SDGs and RPJMN, and a basis for determining Indonesia's general and D.I Yogyakarta's specific development policies towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.
Despite being carried out in the midst of the pandemic, there are several innovations applied in the Long Form SP2020, one of which is the use of various data collection modes (PAPI, CAPI, and CATI). For the first time, Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) was applied in the history of Indonesia's population census.
The implementation process and results of the Long Form SP2020 are briefly presented in the booklet "Indicator of Population Results of the Long Form SP2020". This booklet presents a comprehensive overview of the population conditions of D.I Yogyakarta based on the results of the Long Form SP2020. The basic data coverage of the Long Form SP2020 results is fertility, mortality, mobility, employment, disabilities, education, and housing indicators. The provision of demographic parameters and population characteristics is expected to produce indicators to monitor and evaluate the achievement of SDGs and RPJMN targets in the population sector.
