Abstract

Regional economic development cannot be separated from employment conditions. Employment information is a macro indicator that provides a general overview regarding the dynamics of the labor starting from the characteristics of the labor, the number of the labor forces and the number of non-labor forces. This information is also input to determine the supply and demand for the labor force in a region. Information on the employment situation of a region is very important for the general public to know. BPS-Statistics Indonesia as a producer of basic statistical data considers it necessary to present employment conditions regularly and consistently, so that the information presented can be utilized by all data users. The publication of the labor force situation is a publication providing information about of overview employment in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Province in 2023. The data presented is sourced from the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) August 2023. Sakernas August 2023 also produces estimation down to regency/municipality. The data presented in the tables covers population aged 15 years and over. Most of the tables presented are detailed by gender (male and female) and region (urban and rural). This publication is also displayed labor force data series for 2021–2023, so that data users knowing data trends. Besides, this publication is also supplemented with executive summary of labour force situation.
