Abstract

Climate change, global warming, the decline of biodiversity and natural resources are environmental issues that have made humans aware of the importance of environmental sustainability for human welfare. This underlies the adoption of the environmental pillar as one of the concepts of sustainable development SDG's, which has an equal position with the other two pillars, namely the economic and social pillars. The follow-up to the implementation of SDG's is carried out by the government by taking crucial steps to support complete knowledge and understanding of environmentally friendly development. These efforts will increase the awareness of various parties about the importance of environmental sustainability. The great attention of various parties to the environment provides a strong impetus to provide complete and comprehensive data and information. The publication of Environmental Statistics of the Special Region of Yogyakarta 2023/2024 was prepared to meet these needs. The information presented is sourced from surveys and compilations of administrative data. The existence of data from various data sources requires integration, understanding and dynamic cooperation so that the information presented can provide a detailed picture of a sustainable environment.
