In the midst of various global economic challenges, ranging from a potential economic slowdown, an increase in global and national political temperatures, and the El Nino storm phenomenon that resulted in extreme weather, Indonesia's economic growth in 2023 was quite solid, reaching 5.05 percent (c-to-c).
In line with the national economy, DIY's economy throughout 2023 grew positively by 5.07 percent (c-to-c), reaching the highest position compared to other provinces in Java. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2022, the DIY economy grew 4.86 percent (y-on-y), and compared to the previous quarter, the DIY economy in the fourth quarter of 2023 grew 2.90 percent (q-to-q).
The structure of the DIY economy in 2023 is dominated by the processing industry business field. The large contribution of the processing industry business field is driven by high domestic demand along with increased tourist visits to DIY.
With strong synergy between all stakeholders and the community, it is expected that DIY's economic growth in the future will be higher and of higher quality.
