DIY Economy Grows Positively in the Second Quarter of 2024

Head of BPS Yogyakarta Province, Herum Fajarwati released the figures of Yogyakarta Economic Growth in the second quarter of 2024, Monday (05/08).

BPS Yogyakarta noted that economic performance in the second quarter of 2024 grew by 4.95 percent compared to the second quarter of 2023 (y-on-y). Increased public consumption activities, the existence of National Strategic Projects (PSN) in the DIY area, and increased tourist visits to DIY during the Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and school holidays encouraged the DIY economy to remain optimistic.

The structure of the DIY economy in Q2-2024 was dominated by the processing industry business field at 11.87 percent. While in terms of expenditure, Household Consumption Expenditure (PKRT) still dominates with a contribution of 61.69 percent.
