Yogyakarta Province, Ir. Herum Fajarwati, M.M in the Truntum Meeting Room of BPS Prov. D.I. Yogyakarta. The following is a summary of the results of the press release:

1.       Yogyakarta economy in the third quarter of 2024 grew by 5.05 percent (y-on-y).

When compared to the same period of the previous year (y-on-y), the DIY economy in the third quarter of 2024 grew by 5.05 percent. Meanwhile, when compared to the second quarter of 2024 (q-to-q), the DIY economy in the third quarter of 2024 grew by 0.31 percent.

The structure of the DIY economy in the third quarter of 2024 was dominated by the Processing Industry business field with a contribution of 11.72 percent, followed by Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries at 10.21 percent, and Provision of Accommodation and Eating and Drinking at 10.00 percent. While in terms of expenditure, Household Consumption expenditure still dominates with a contribution of 61.01 percent, followed by Gross Fixed Capital Formation 35.30 percent, and Government Consumption Expenditure 13.36 percent.

2.              DIY's TPT was recorded at 3.48% in August 2024.

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 3.48 percent, a decrease of 0.21 percentage points compared to August 2023 (3.69 percent). The number of labor force in D.I. Yogyakarta in August 2024 was 2.26 million people. Meanwhile, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) was 74.78 percent, an increase of 0.70 percentage points compared to August 2023.

A total of 1.16 million people (53.12 percent) worked in informal activities. Most of the working population are full-time workers (69.08 percent). While part-time workers amounted to 25.37 percent and underemployment of 5.55 percent.
