Abstract

In June 2025, the year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation rate in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province was 2.52 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.52. Within this region, Gunungkidul Regency recorded a y-o-y inflation rate of 2.66 percent and a CPI of 107.80. In contrast, Yogyakarta City experienced a y-o-y inflation rate of 2.35 percent, accompanied by a CPI of 109.39.
Inflation has increased due to price hikes in various expenditure groups: food, beverages, and tobacco rose by 3.46 percent; clothing and footwear by 2.94 percent; housing, water, electricity, and fuel by 1.33 percent; household equipment and maintenance by 1.83 percent; health by 1.66 percent; transportation by 0.66 percent; recreation and culture by 1.37 percent; education by 1.37 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provisions by 1.72 percent; and personal care services surged by 11.65 percent. In contrast, the information, communication, and financial services group saw a decrease of 0.08 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in June 2025 is 0.23 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in June 2025 is 1.79 percent.
