Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta in 2017 is an annual publication for Regional Account and Statistical Analysis Division of BPS-Statistics of D.I. The benefit of this index is to provide early signals on economic conditions in the short term. ITK is presented into two indices, Current Indicators Index (IIK) and Upcoming Indicators Index (IIM). ITK is calculated based on the Consumer Tendency Survey (STK) which done quarterly. The block census sample of STK 2017 is a sub-sample of the National Economic and Social Survey (Susenas) in March 2017 in the urban areas. The sample’s strata included the middle and high strata of wealth index. The Household samples were selected from households with heads of households education level at senoir high school and above. IIK is composed by three indicators, namely current income index, the effect of price changes on consumption index, and the volume of consumption index. IIM is composed by two indicators, namely upcoming income index and the index of durable goods purchase plan. The value of IIK and IIM ranges from 0 to 200. If IIK and IIM equal to 100 means economic conditions of consumers is unchanged or relatively the same. IIK and IIM over than 100 means optimistic or the economic condition of consumer’s during the quarter is better than the previous quarter. The ITK’s values of D.I. Yogyakarta in 2017 are always in optimistic level or index100. The highest level of IIK happen in the second and third quarter related to the momentum of the Idul Fitri celebration, school holidays, and the new school year. All of IIK’s indicators have a positive influence to the level of consumer confidence at the current quarter (index 100). Generally, IIM value which calculated in the previous quarter is always higher than the realizable value at the current quarte, except in thirth and fourth quarter in 2017.
