Abstract

The publication "Occupancy Rate of Hotel Room Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta 2020”is annually published by BPS-Statistics of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Province. The datapresented in this publication is carried out throughout accommodation companies that becomerespondents only hotel business, both star and non-star. Hotels with star classification areenumerated completely (census), while non-star hotels are enumerated by survey sample.The number of respondents was 496 hotels, consisting of 172 star hotels and 324 nonstarhotels. During May – August 2020 the number of respondents decreased because manybusinesses were closed due to the pandemic. The average sample of star hotels is 66 percentwhile non-star hotels are 54 percent.Currently tourism activity becomes a leading in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta are MICE(Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition), cultural and nature tourism tours, and tourism facilities such as resorts, hotels, and restaurants. There were 172 listed star hotels, and 1 951non-stars at Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta in 2020.The situation reflected in the number of guests who visited and stayed in 2020 decrease of 64.37 percent over the previous year. In 2020, it was recorded that the tourists, stayed at the hotel were as many as 3.2 millions persons; consisting of the 42.8 thousands of foreigners and 3.2 millions domestic tourists. It was indicated 74.45 percent tourist stayed at star hotels. Meanwhile 25.55 percent stayed in non-star hotels. Occupancy Rate of Hotel Room in the star hotels was reached 35.96 percent. Higher 20.10 point compare to the non-star hotels, which reached 15.86 percent.
