Abstract

Efforts to break the chain of the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak ultimately have an impact on both the social and economic fields. Political and security dynamics are also inseparable from the influence of the Covid-19 outbreak. The direct impact of the outbreak of the Covid-19 outbreak is the postponement of the simultaneous regional elections. The local election was originally scheduled for September 23, 2020. However, given the unfavorable situation, the government issued a policy related to the postponement of the 2020 simultaneous local elections. In addition to having an impact on delaying the 2020 regional elections, the COVID-19 outbreak has also raised concerns in the form of low voter participation in the regional elections that were forced to be held. in the midst of a pandemic.
To carry out the mandate of the 1945 Constitution, in the D.I. Yogyakarta, Polri has complete security infrastructure consisting of 1 Police Headquarters, 5 Polres/Polresta, 80 Polsek/Police and 33 Police Posts. In order to support the police function, in 2020, there are 9,736 personnel on duty throughout the D.I. Yogyakarta. Of these, most or as many as 3,503 served in the D.I. Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, as many as 6,233 others served in the police station/polresta in D.I. Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, if broken down by gender, there are 7.33 percent female police officers or 714 people and 92.67 percent male police officers or 9,022 people.
When viewed by district/city, the largest police-to-population ratio is in Sleman Regency, which is 1:929. This high ratio indicates that the police workload in Sleman Regency is quite large. This must be a concern so that the quality of police services and police efforts in maintaining security in Sleman can be carried out optimally. Moreover, Sleman is a district with a fairly high economic activity. So that efforts to maintain security and order in this district need attention.
In 2020, the number of crimes reported in Bantul increased to 1,088 cases from the previous 933 cases. Likewise, the number of crimes reported at the Mapolda D.I. Yogyakarta. The number of crimes reported at Mapolda D.I. Yogyakarta, there were 4,701 incidents or an increase of 102 cases compared to 2019.
